Dr. Melissa Rothstein grew up in Maryland and attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where she studied both science and art. She completed an M.S. in Animals and Public Policy at Tufts vet school before moving to the west coast for vet school at UC Davis where she studied mixed animal (small and large) and wildlife medicine.
Dr. Rothstein’s special interests include behavior, surgery (especially spay and neuter!), wildlife rehabilitation, and shelter medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her dog Kodi and two cats, Herbert and Hazel. She loves to do anything outdoors, including hiking, climbing, and kayaking, and loves to paint portraits of people’s pets!
